The Executive Chairman of Jos South Local Government Area, Hon. Silas Patrick Dung, has embarked on a comprehensive project monitoring tour to assess the quality and progress of ongoing construction work across the council, reaffirming his commitment to delivering people-oriented projects.

The tour began in Kuru with an inspection of a town hall that had been previously abandoned but is now being completed under the current administration. The Chairman, accompanied by council officials, met with contractors on-site to evaluate the level and standard of work being executed.

within the same community, the Chairman also visited the site of a newly commenced three-celled box culvert. The project is designed to replace a narrow, dangerous crossing that has for years linked three major wards, Dahwol Vwana, Dahwol Chwaha, and Kushe, serving as a critical route for thousands of residents. The old structure, residents say, was a steep, flood prone trap that became catastrophic during the rainy season. Describing the significance of the project, Hon. Silas called the bridge a “unity bridge,” noting that it symbolically and physically connects the three wards of Kuru, fostering cohesion and easier access for all.

The tour concluded at the Primary Healthcare Center in Giring, where the Chairman inspected the ongoing construction of a dedicated TB Collection Center and Children Immunization Hall. The facility, which previously operated in cramped and risky conditions, will soon have a safer, more private environment for patients and staff.

Speaking during the tour, Hon. Silas emphasized that all the projects are direct responses to the needs of the communities. “These are needs of the people, and it is my mandate to serve them,” he stated. “I am simply returning back to them what is rightfully theirs.”

The leader of the Jos South legislative council, Rt. Hon. Chomoshen David Emmanuel representing Kushe Ward, along with Hon. Dangana Chong Chuhwak representing Kuru “A” and Hon. Kwon David Pam representing Kuru “B,” expressed satisfaction with the development and the Chairman’s hands on approach to ensuring quality service delivery across the local government area.

Also speaking at the PHC, the councilor representing Giring Ward thanked the Chairman for not only heeding the call of the people but also for removing the danger of exposing patients to dangerous diseases by ensuring the separation of children and TB patients within the facility.

Residents of the communities were equally full of gratitude, expressing appreciation that the projects are not dragging on as is often the tradition with government projects, but are instead oncourse to be completed in good time. They further commended the Chairman not only for awarding the contracts but for personally coming on site to monitor the quality of work being done.
